StarTree Cloud comes with several applications and utilities that increase usability and reduce the time to value for users.

Data Portal

The StarTree Data Portal makes it easy to ingest data into Pinot tables stored in StarTree Cloud. The Data Portal has a visual interface, for ingesting data from a variety of streaming and batch sources. Users can perform various transformations with minimal complexity, minimizing potential errors. Users can save time by catching issues like data format incompatibility, poor data quality, and connectivity issues.

StarTree Query Console

The StarTree Query Console is a web-based interface for running SQL queries on real-time data stored in StarTree Cloud. It’s designed for fast, interactive analysis and is ideal for developers, data analysts, and engineers working with high-volume streaming datasets. The Query Console includes:

• Interactive SQL Editor: Run ad-hoc queries with syntax highlighting and auto-complete
• Live Data Preview: Instantly view results with sub-second latency on fresh data.
• Table Browser: Explore available tables, schemas, and metadata.
• Query Templates: Save, reuse, and share frequently used queries.
• Performance Insights: View query execution stats like latency and scanned records.

Observability

StarTree Cloud provides out-of-the-box support for system monitoring through Grafana dashboards. Users can look at the various system metrics like CPU/memory or monitor ingestion and query traffic patterns directly in Grafana. Users can export these metrics (as well as system logs) to external destinations.

Security Manager

The Security Manager is used to configure fine grained Role Based Access Control (RBAC) roles and policies and to assign them to users. Users can be an individual email ID, a group, or even a service account. Startree Cloud admins can use the Security Manager to govern access control for several business units through one interface.

StarTree ThirdEye

With StarTree ThirdEye, users can create multi-dimensional real-time alerts on timeseries data stored in Pinot to detect anomalies in business events. For example, using ThirdEye you could detect if there is a sudden spike in incoming orders. ThirdEye also enables root cause analysis on the alert by identifying which dimension caused this spike. For example, the spike could originate from a certain country or demographic which will be automatically detected.
