# Upload a File to StarTree

You can **upload a file** up to **30MB** in various formats, including **CSV, AVRO, JSON, Parquet, SQL**, and more. The full list of supported file types is displayed above the upload box in the **StarTree Data Portal**.

### Step 1: Create a Table

On the **StarTree Data Portal** overview page, click **Create Table**.

### Step 2: Select the Upload Option

On the **Select Connection Type** page, click **Upload**.

### Step 3: Upload the File

1. Drag and drop your file into the **Select file to upload** box.\
   *or*
2. Click the box to open your **file manager**, locate and select the file, and then click **Next**.

### Step 4: Configure the Dataset

1. Enter a **Name** for the dataset.
2. Click **Next** to display a **sample preview** of the uploaded dataset.
